Railroads have committed by July 1 to provide $5 million to develop specialized crude by rail training and tuition assistance program for local first responders. Transportation Technology Center, Inc. located in Pueblo, CO will provide this training. We need instructors! Full and Part Time positions available.
- This position will provide instruction to emergency responders, law enforcement officers, contract responders, chemical manufacturers, railroad personnel and public/private employees involved in emergency response, management and planning. In addition to delivery of training courses, instructors are tasked with reviewing and revising curriculum, development of presentation materials (Power Point presentations), assisting in designing field exercises and response scenarios to enhance and complement specific courses of instruction under the guidance of the Lead Instructor. Instructors will be familiar with all training props and teaching a Physical Demands: This work requires walking, standing, bending, sitting and carrying of small packages or containers. Travel to field locations to coordinate training activities may be involved. Work may also involve considerable physical exertion while demonstrating a variety of emergency response techniques and methods. Requires:
- Hazardous Materials Technician Certification.
- Five (5) years working knowledge of emergency response to hazardous materials transportation emergencies with experience specific to railroad, highway, and intermodal transportation.
- Two (2) years public speaking and/or instruction experience required, specifically related to hazardous materials training as detailed in OSHA 1910.120, and NFPA 472.
