The objective of this Workshop is to provide delegates with a working knowledge of all aspects of fire and
gas detection principles, fixed fire and gas detection system functionality and portable gas detection product selection. This will include discussion of fire hazard incidents,gas hazard incidents and fire and gas detection
system critical performance criteria. Certification issues under the terms of the ATEX directive and SIL methodology will also be discussed. These will cover the methods of protection for electrical equipment to
be used in potentially flammable atmospheres and the integrity of safety systems.

This workshop is directly relevant to personnel responsible for any aspect of Fire Hazard Management
at refineries, terminals, gas storage, and petrochemical facilities.
