Lily, KY: Surlfuricand hydrochloric acid were accidentally mixed, causing two releases of chlorine gas intoan automotive plant. After the first release sent 23 workers and 2 emergency responders tothe hospital, the building was evacuated for 90 minutes. After workers were allowed backinto the building, an off-site air system took in some of the chlorine gas, producing thesecond release and sending 23 more employees to the hospital.
