Amerex, manufacturer of hand portable extinguishers and fixed special-hazard fire suppression systems, announced in March that it has completed the acquisition of Solberg Scandinavian AS, one of the largest independent firefighting foam agent manufacturers in Europe.
Solberg, based in Norway, is recognized throughout Europe and the Asia Pacific region for its environmentally sustainable fluorosurfactant and fluoropolymer-free products that are an innovation in Class B firefighting foam. The company enjoys significant market share sales in Northern Europe and Australia.
In other news about company sales affect fire fighting, private equity firm Warburg Pincus is buying ambulance and fire protection services provider Rural/Metro Corp. for $438.2 million. Rural/Metro’s board unanimously approved the deal, which will take the company private. The acquisition, which still needs shareholder approval, is expected to close by the end of June.
Also, Total Safety has acquired Houston-based Webb, Murray & Associates, a fire protection engineering and risk management company servicing industrial markets in the Gulf Coast and eastern U.S. regions. Total provides integrated safety services and compliance solutions for industry.
