Five companies have been fined a total of £9.5m following the fire and explosion at Buncefield Oil Storage Depot in 2005. The firms were sentenced on Friday 16 July at St Albans Crown Court following a joint prosecution by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and Environment Agency (EA).
