Age 53, Dies; W. H. Lauderback Lifetime Achievement Award recipient
Bill Zolczer, age 53, of McKinney, Texas, passed away
suddenly August 29, 2007, in Mexico. William Robert
Zolczer was born April 22, 1954, in Buffalo, New
York, to Robert John and Jane Carol (Johnston)
Zolczer. He grew up in Buffalo and earned an
Engineering Degree in Fire Protection from Oklahoma
State University. Bill was a Mason, an Eagle Scout
and of the Methodist faith. He was an instructor at
Texas A&M Fire School where he earned the W. H.
Lauderback Lifetime Achievement Award. Bill was
currently employed by Global Risk Consultants. He is
survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Pam; son,
Forrest Zolczer and his wife Sonya of Schertz, Texas;
grandsons, Marshal and Mason Zolczer; and his sister,
April Zolczer of Buffalo, New York. He is preceded in
death by his parents. Funeral services will be held
at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Turrentine-
Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at
Altoga Cemetery. The family will receive friends
during a visitation on Wednesday evening beginning at
6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to Bill Zolczer Memorial Scholarship at
the OSU School of Fire Protection Engineering,
Stillwater, OK.
